  • Most Positive most fun & best person sharing the LOVE of Americas Corvette Rick Conti on You Tube! Hard to get your Mechanic to bust a smile out of the shop in the Corvette Launch Control! 😂 I like his glasses fell down over his eyes during his experience!👍

  • Love the Conti-ent as usual. Not going to do Launch control in my C8. Yeah – the C8 was engineered to handle launch control – but you have to wonder how many miles of use of the transmission is subtracted every time you do it…….

  • Rick, you lead by example and I really appreciate that. There is nothing better than laughter and the pleasure of a great launch. Sharing that with others is priceless.

  • I see you have the track or 4S sport tires on. Where the tires warm? Also air temp? Those tires will slide or won't grip when they are not real warm or its cool outside.

  • That was a HOOT! I haven't tried it yet in my ZR1. Something about popping the clutch all at once at high rpm's makes me nervous. After watching this, I'm gonna have to give it whirl!

  • What dealer does this? This is nuts! But wait, Rick does this! Rick is nuts. That’s who does this. MY DEALER!! LOL

Love that he buys the product he believes in. Love that he shows the car and teaches us all the great features.

To me he is a great car salesman. And that’s why I’m using Rick to buy a Corvette from and I live clear in California.

This guy is not only a great guy, he a devoted man to his customer base and he loves Corvettes.

So cool that he lets all these people drive his baby, just to sell what he believes in.

Rick you are hilarious, knowledgeable and just a cool guy that has already taught me so much about the C-8.

Can’t wait for that allocation so I can come out and see ya.

  • Nice touch Rick- truly awesome to see so many people in your car which is a real great thing. Keep up the ambassadorship of the C8 Corvette- No One Does it better than you!

  • How many launch control can I do one after the other without messing up the car? I heard in track mode and everything off the car goes the fastest, but with stability off is it dangerous will car go side ways?

  • Rick – probably intentional, due to time and keeping the fun factor in-play (most important!) – but you missed several important technical and performance adjustment things about launch control. Such as:
    1) The front wheels have to be straight and the steering wheel at a nearly perfect 0 degrees position for Traction Control to work.
    2) The DCT needs to be in ‘Drive’, and not Manual mode
    2) There is a power-to-wheels horsepower difference depending on if you choose Sport or Track mode. The ECM will put more HP to the wheels faster in “Track” mode than in “Sport” mode.
    3) The traction control functionality does not have to be totally turned off – if better bite and less wheel spin is desired. This only works with Z51 cars with TCM, by choosing the right road conditions via the TCM function.
    4) There are different rear gear ratios and different LSD’s for Z51s vs non-Z51s, which will make a difference in Launch Control results. The difference will be fairly minimal if the non-Z51 C8 has the NPP exhaust.
    5) The brake pedal needs to be pushed quite hard: ‘to-the-floor’ hard, for launch control to work.
    6) If the engine RPMs won’t go up to 3500 rpm with the brake fully depressed and the DCT in Drive, then you have something set wrong.
    7) Q? Should you have extra tranny fluid in the DCT if you bring the C8 to the Drag Strip track and do repetitive pulls?
    8) Q?: If you lower rear tire pressure a few psi, will the tires ‘bite’ better. … and improve 0-60 times? …and decrease tire spin?
    9) Total Car weight has a lot to do with launch quickness, the g’s at launch, and the tire hook-up. Less fuel in the tank, no passenger, and an empty frunk and trunk will improve the 0-60 times and the fun factor, IF (a big if) you can get the tires to hook-up.
    10) You should have the front seat, head restraints, and you own body position adjusted correctly before launch, so that your body and head are firmly against the seat-back and head restraint – before launching.

  • With this successful c8 models. It makes me wonder how much it would cost to get a corvette in the future? 100k -150k msrp? When I first saw the c8 on their website as I was looking for future coupe car and I said this is my next car 60k+ bracket cars but with so much success of c8 it looks like not going to be possible for me to afford this in the near term and even in the future
