Download How to Climb Mt. Woodside on Highway 7 Safely video & save it for offline view

Due to a recent heavy rain event in British Columbia that caused severe flooding, mudslides and severely damaged may highways, Highway 7 is currently the only route to access the rest of Canada from most of the Lower Mainland, including Vancouver ports.

This strech is a narrow winding hill, with an 11% grade. There have been multiple accidents daily in the westbound direction due to trucks not taking enough room around the corners and sliding in to the ditch.

This video shows how I handle it, respectfully pass a much heavier truck, then protect my space up the whole hill. This is how I would deal with it unless I am loaded, in which case I would only straddle both lanes for the corners.
