Pretty basic, but everyone has to start somewhere. Changing the air filter and how to ‘rebuild’ the water release valve at the bottom of the air box…VERY important for any water crossing adventures!!

  • Me too wondering about that cut over the filter gasket! , anyway clearly you found some insects and bugs under the gasket that because your snorkel head is clearly open , you need to put an insect isolation net on the snorkel head , sounds like a new project video 😉
Did you knew that the water level could gets very close to the second cut under the gasket ?

  • Talking of the Pajero airfilter box mine happens to be the Oval shaped short airfilter style but my airfilter box gasket is missing because a mechanic failed to put it back and had misplaced it.

So I am looking for a new gasket or if not a whole new Pajero airbox may have to be purchased. My filter is the oval shaped short one and it can be cleaned and reused. I found out that gasket was lost way long after I was checking the vehicle at home later to do some minor service on it. Its really a shame how some of these mechanics do things, even some more dangerous that can take lives. This is why I watch a lot of the YouTube videos to learn how to do it on my own or to have the idea and inspect what's being done. For one mechanic once he refused to do the job, because he realised I knew what and how it was meant to be done so when I questioned him on several occasions he knew right away and quit. Asking me to do it myself. I am really struggling looking for this gasket type for my airbox. Similar to your airbox but yours is round. I dont know if the gasket of the round airbox would fit the oval airbox. Please I need the expert advice on this.

Also I really like your intercooler setup will like to do the same. my Pajero is the Gen2 with the hightop or highroof running the 4m40 also. everything looks the same on the interior with the fieldmaster model.

  • Do they still make the Pajero in Philippines? Because the Chinese bought the licence and also produces it as the Leopaard (with 2 a's) in China and as Pajero till 2015 I think.
